What kind of monetization does the game have?

The game is free-to-play and players have the option to directly purchase character and weapon cosmetics. Players will also be able to unlock new Sponsors kits just by playing the game or they can choose to directly purchase them. There won’t be any loot boxes or NFT/web3 integrations.

What's the sensitivity conversion for Spectre?

Our sensitivity scaling is effectively 1:1 to VALORANT. You can use tools such as this one to find your conversion.

What are Mountaintop's plans for esports?

We don't have formal plans for esports at this time. We're excited to support community-run tournaments and events, but our primary focus is simply making an excellent competitive game.

Will Linux or Mac be supported?

We are only supporting Windows at this time. If things change in the future, we'll share updates with the community.

Will there be a console version or controller support?

We'll be PC-only at launch, but console versions and controller support are both planned for post-launch.

What’s the tick rate?

We're running our launch servers at 62.5 tick rate, but gameplay (e.g. hit registration and shooting mechanics) runs at client framerate. Note that we used 62.5 vs. 64, because this choice (1000/62.5 = 16ms frame time) leaves less room for errors throughout the stack without a tradeoff in performance.

We've built a custom network stack to make sure the game delivers on a great experience for players. This means we can tune everything under the hood going forward based on data.

Will there be support for widescreen or stretched resolutions?

We plan on supporting ultrawide monitors. We have some beta code in place, so give us a little more time to test it and tweak accordingly. We do not plan on supporting stretched resolution.

What kind of Anti-Cheat will Spectre Divide be using?

We use a combination of BattlEye and proprietary systems (some of which we’ve been working on since day 1) to keep cheaters from affecting normal players. We can’t say too much more beyond this, but like all of our systems designed to keep our matches healthy, the team is always monitoring, improving and iterating ways to keep cheaters out. Remember, your reports go a long way too.

We know this response is vague, but it is intended to obfuscate exactly what we’re doing and how we’re doing it to not give anything away. Philosophically, cheating is not OK in Spectre and we will aggressively take action on offending accounts.
