If you're getting an error message when launching Spectre Divide that says "Windows cannot find <file path>" then it's possible you have anti-virus software installed that is interfering with the installation and or patching process.
Example:
If you're experiencing this error then you can try temporarily enabling passive mode within your anti-virus software (at your own risk):
- Temporarily Enable Passive Mode:
- Once passive mode is enabled you'll need to verify your game files in Steam:
- In your Steam library, Right-click Spectre Divide > Properties.
- Click the Installed Files tab and click Verify integrity of beta files.
- Once that's done verifying you can try launching Spectre Divide again.
- Once this is complete you can disable Passive Mode again.
